CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE (CEMAS)
It is commonly observed that most of the schools do not stress on the basic understanding of concepts in Science and Mathematics during the teaching-learning process. So the students lack clarity and most of them resort to mere memorization. This ultimately leads to an aversion and fear towards these subjects. As the present CBSE pattern of examinations assess understanding more than mere recalling, such children tend to fare poorly in those subjects. Thus CEMAS has ben initiated with a goal of inculcating interest and clarity of concepts in Mathematics and Science at an affordable cost.
With the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the support and co-operation of the parents, CEMAS will endeavour to make a positive change in every child with respect to knowledge and values.
About the Centre Head
The Centre Head, Mrs. Zeepa Sara John is highly qualified and has Post Graduate degrees in Science (Chemistry), Education (Gold Medallist) and Sociology, in addition to an M.Phil degree in Education. She is also a UGC certified Professor in Education. She has written a book "Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education" for teacher trainees.
She has had the privilege of studying in reputed educational institUtions like Ewarts Matriculation School, Women's Christian College, Madras Christian College and the Department of Education - University of Madras. In these Institutions, she has had the privilege of being taught by great teachers. She has the experience of working in an International School at Chennai and a College of Education in Karaikal.
All these have helped her acquire in-depth subject knowledge, values and a good command over English, which she wishes to share with the students through CEMAS.
